Mikey’s “New Radio” was featured in the March 6th, 2012 episode (“Injured”) of Fox’s “New Girl” this past week. Good times…

The first release from Mike James (Longwave, The Mercies) under the Mikey Jukebox moniker, 4/14/08. Featured on ABC’s The Lying Game (2011), as an alternate title, “Gone”.
This track is featured on the “We Don’t Stop ‘til the Kids “R” Dancin’” EP.
One of the final throes for the “Mikey Jukebox” record is the “We Don’t Stop ‘til the Kids “R” Dancin’ EP.
It features “Insatiable”, also known as “Gone” and has seen recent attention for being placed on ABC’s The Lying Game, and a cassette dub of Kids “R” Dancin’ from the Dave Fridmann (Flaming Lips, MGMT, Longwave) master of the record. Back in 2007 when I first started the Jukebox recordings, my idea was that Dancin’ & Insatiable would be the first single. That never happened, but I was excited to finally sit them next together on this EP.
It also has “You’re Gonna Be Mine Someday” a song that was written in 1999, the first song I ever wrote for the first band I ever fronted, “The Blood” (whose members would end up in my post-Longwave band, “DJ Dick James/Footage”.
Rounding it out is a really get-up remix from my friend, David Lee Rad, who also played synthesizer & samples in my last band, “The Mercies”, a while back.

a few things are happening. between all The Demos (www.thedemos.net) work we’ve been doing, i’ve (jay & i) have been working on new recordings for me since 10/10. the working title was, “Rebel Love”, then “Mirages”, now who knows…may be “Rebel Love”.
-13 songs were tracked. they are finished and the mixing is the last measure.
-we’ve had a track mixed by Howie B (U2, Bjork, Pulp), “Return”. http://www.howieb.com

-after all the fun of toying with possible mix productions, it looks like i will be mixing with Jay assisting. but nothing is final. this starts, this week.
-there is a show booked for 4/21 in Rochester (Bug Jar), whether it’s a showcase for the new songs or an out-n-out release celebration, is to be seen.
-i also plan on releasing lots of old recorded/projects/former bands via ep’s, digitally, as it is work that was done and should be heard.
